Daydreaming!

One of the things that I can't wait for when Andrew and I buy a house is my very own craft room. Right now, I respond to e-mails and create receipts from my desk, fulfill and wrap orders on my dining room table and kitchen island, keep all of my supplies on a set of wire shelves in the guest room and store all of my shipping materials in an extra closet. I try to use my space efficiently, but you get the picture :).

When I'm working on orders, I start to daydream of how I would set up my very own craft room. I would LOVE a large workspace, lots of natural sunlight, a section of the room dedicated to wrapping and shipping,...the list goes on. I came across these inspiration pictures tonight and thought I would share them with you all.

Don't you love all of the space and natural sunlight!?!

I really like having the main work space in the middle of the room with stations along the wall.

A main workspace is a must.

I want to make sure that the space I have is used efficiently...these wall organizers would be perfect!

What a cute, simple and easy idea! This is a great way to track orders.

So, what are some of your craft room wishes?

New Product: Reusable Shopping Tote Bags

I'm excited to announce that we have a new product in stock...reusable shopping tote bags! Aren't they pretty!

They're great to use on a trip to the beach, pool or grocery store. You could even use them as a gift bag for a birthday or shower gift. Plus, they're recyclable, reusable and easy to clean, which makes them even better.

Each bag is 17" high, 13.5" wide and 8.75" deep. I haven't had a chance to add them to the website yet, but they'll be $12.95 each, which includes a name, initial or monogram in your favorite color vinyl.

Here is a close up picture of each design:

Blue Floral:

Brown and Orange Paisley:

Starburst Flowers:

Purple Circles:

Leopard Print:

Modern Flowers:

I only have a few bags of each design available, so if you're interested in any of the designs above, feel free to send me an e-mail (nicky@stylemarkdesigns.com).

I'm wanting to give away one of the new bags! So tell me, if you had your very own reusable shopping tote bag, what would you put on your bag? Would it be a fun word or phrase or your name or initial? I think I would put "Hi, Cupcake" because I love cupcakes. Tell me your idea by Friday, March 11 by 11:59 p.m. and you could win one of our brand new reusable shopping tote bags! I can't wait to hear everyone's ideas.

Hump Day Dinner #148 - Blizzard 2011

Last Tuesday, Snowpocalypse arrived in Tulsa and we received 14" of snow. There was so much snow that Tulsa shut down for a good three days. Things are just now starting to get back to normal.

We didn't want to break tradition, so for Hump Day Dinner #148 we ate at Texas Roadhouse. It was one of the only restaurants that was open in Tulsa :(. Here are some pictures from the storm:

My snow ninja

The snowfall on our patio table.

Snow packed tires

Icicles

The grocery stores were bare...no bananas...

...no bread...

 ...and no milk.

We're supposed to be getting more snow tomorrow, but I'm crossing my fingers and toes that it misses Tulsa.

I can only hope!

Hump Day Dinner #147: Chicory and Chives

5800 South Lewis Avenue, Suite 129
Tulsa, OK  74105
918-585-3500
Check our their menu!

Chicory and Chives was a great restaurant. It's located at 58th and Lewis in the London Square Shopping Center. We had a huge group when we were there (16 people!), but we were taken care of from start to finish. Plus, the food was delicious! Be sure to try the fried catfish and/or fried shrimp po-boy. They were some of our favorites.

While we were eating, we were able to talk to the owner, Jim, and he is what he had to say about the restaurant.

P.S. You might have to turn up the volume just a little bit.

The Year of the House

Instead of the year of the rabbit, I'm optimistic that 2011 is going to be the year of the house for Andrew and I. Right now, we rent a great house in Jenks, but I'm so ready for a place of our own. I'm can't wait for us to decorate our home how we want, expand our family to include at least one dog (no kids just yet!) and to have my very own craft room for StyleMark Designs.

A few weeks ago, I came across the ItzFritz store on Etsy. They make the most beautiful wreaths! I can't wait to one day have one on my front door.

The color combinations and flowers are just beautiful!

Here are my favorites:

I'm leaning more towards this one!

If you like what you see, check out their Etsy store or head over to their Facebook page.

Hump Day Dinner #146: Old School Bagel Cafe

Hump Day Dinner #146
3723 S. Peoria Ave.
Tulsa, OK  74105
918-743-7400

This week, we ate at Old School Bagel Cafe on Peoria for Hump Day Dinner #146. To be honest, I wasn't looking forward to eating here, but it was surprisingly good. The food was delicious, the staff was helpful, it was really cheap and they have the most AMAZING cookies ever! I can't wait to go back.

We talked to Patrick, one of the employees at Old School Bagel Cafe, and he gave us the scoop on Old School Bagel Cafe.

*Andrew bought me a Kodak PlaySport for Christmas, so I'm adding a new dimension to the Hump Day Dinner reports. This video is VERY rough, but it's not too bad for my first one. Enjoy!

New Year. New Blog

I've decided to start a new blog. For some time, I've tried to find a way to intertwine my personal and business life together into one blog. I changed my personal blog to a business blog, but then had trouble coming up with content ideas that weren't repetitive. When I made the blog change, I then missed talking about things happening in my personal life. Plus, coming up with a cute blog name isn't as easy it looks!

A few weeks ago, I read this blog post and Jess' advice really hit home.

I just needed to relax, stop worrying and just be me.

So, that's exactly what you'll get on this blog. I'll talk about my life as a wife, friend and small business owner...plus everything in between! It will be a modge podge of information, but I hope you'll find some of it useful.
